Day 348 - Weekly Newsletter

Hey Everybody!
Welcome to the month of April! Can you believe we are already into the second quarter of 2013? March was a great month for me, not only personally with my training, but it was also my most successful month as a Beachbody Coach yet. I have to thank all of you, and welcome those new team members. This company truly is great to be a part of, and it is growing fast!
This week's topics:
1. If you haven't already, I highly recommend joining our Accountability Group. This is a great place for people to post their workouts as well as any questions/advice they can give. Studies have shown that most people are successful staying active in a group atmosphere, and although many of us prefer to exercise in the private confines of our homes, it is still nice to be a part of a group with like-minded folks who want to motivate and inspire each other.
2. My March contest is over, and I want to congratulate Ben on winning a 2-week supply of Shakeology. Ben, I have mailed your Shakeology to you, hopefully you receive it by the end of the week! Keep an eye out for more contests in the near future!
3. The price of Chocolate and Greenberry Shakeology has officially increased as of April 1st. The bright side here is that ALL flavors and forms of Shakeology are now the same price, so for those of you who are interested in the Vegan formulas don't have to worry about paying extra as they are all the same price. Not only that, but just as before, the cheapest way to get Shakeology is with the Coach discount, so if you are considering purchasing Shakeology, speak to me about becoming a Coach. I have heard upwards of 75% of Coaches out there are Coaches simply for the discount alone! If you would like to request a sample (I still have some regular Chocolate samples) then e-mail me and I will send one out to you right away!
4. During the month of April, the Insanity Challenge Pack is just $180 (regular $205). Keep in mind that although the Challenge Pack alone is a $25 savings, you are actually saving over $90 compared to if you were to purchase all of the Challenge Pack items individually. Not only that, but Beachbody is continuing the promotion that if you purchase a Challenge Pack, you have the option to upgrade to "Coach Status" absolutely free ($40 savings). That is over $130 worth of savings!
5. I have officially passed the 1 Million Youtube Views mark! I want to thank all of you who have supported me by watching my videos.

And 2 favors that I ask:
1) If you like the hard work I put into writing my blogs and videos, PLEASE help me out by sharing them.  Click the share links below them and share them on FB, Twitter, etc.  It really helps me get more exposure and grow our team!
2) Also, as always, remember that the way I benefit from being your coach is that I earn a commission from any Beachbody products that you purchase, as long as you buy them through my site, tylerrobbinsfitness.com. It helps with the amount of time I spend answering all your questions, writing my blogs, filming my videos, and helping you out. Thank you! I really appreciate it!

Everyone have a great week!

Day 341 - Weekly Newsletter

Hello Everyone!

Wow, the last week of March, 2013 is Marching right along...see what I did there?

Personally, I am in my 2nd week of my Tough Mudder Training. My wife and I are training hard to compete in Tough Mudder Toronto on May 11th. I actually got out for my first run of the season last Saturday. It is the first run I have gone on since World's Toughest Mudder back in November. It felt great to get back outside running again!

You can definitely tell Spring is in the air. There may be snow on the ground for a lot of us still, but there is more sunshine and daylight during the day, and I know it has really improved my own mood and energy levels, I hope it is doing the same for all of you!

Topics to cover this week:

1. For you Facebook users: I have an accountability group started on Facebook. You can find us here. This group is a great way to post daily accountability, ask questions, and help motivate each other to stay active! Anyone can join, so meet us there!

2. Shaun T's next program has been announced. It is called "Focus T25". It is a 5 day-a-week program, each workout lasting just 25 minutes. You can find the first trailer for it here.

4. I am anticipating I will hit the 1 million Youtube views milestone sometime this weekend. I want to thank all of my supporters who have watched and enjoyed my videos!

5. There are just a few days left in March to take advantage of Beachbody's Promotions. Remember, you can get both P90X and P90X2 Challenge Packs for $180 (over $80 savings). Not only that, but the P90X Challenge Pack also comes with P90X Plus, so you are saving over $160!

6. Also just a few days left to take advantage of the current Shakeology Pricing before prices go up April 1st. If you "lock-in" at the current price with "Home Direct", you stay at the current price for life (of course you can cancel at ANY time without penalty!). Here is the current Shakeology pricing structure (message me for details):

Shakeology (30 servings) Retail Price: $119.95 ($129.95 vegan)

Day 334 - Weekly Newsletter

Hello Everybody!

Spring is here! Although if the weather near you is anything like it is near me, then you certainly aren't feeling very "spring-like" just yet...I am supposed to have my first training run of the year this coming Saturday, yet there is still PLENTY of snow on the ground. I guess I will be sticking to sidewalks that are plowed!

How is everyone making out with your health and fitness goals? Considering today is the first day of Spring, that means that the really nice summer weather is right around the corner. Again, if it still snowy where you are like it is for me, then you aren't feeling very "spring-like", but trust me, it's coming!

Lots to cover this week, so let's jump right in to it!

1. I had a blast at the Beachbody event this past weekend in Toronto. It was great not only working out with Shaun T live, but getting to meet him as well as getting a photo done was very cool. You can read all about the event here. Which brings me to #2:

2. "Focus T25" - This is the name of Shaun T's new workout program. He briefly talked about this at the event, so now you can go read more about it, and sign up and be notified with any news.

3. I have been contacted by Beachbody for a testimonial regarding my Body Beast Final Results. I have signed and sent in my waiver, sent in my before and after photos, etc. I now just have to wait to hear back whether or not Beachbody wishes to use my story as part of their promotional materials in some way.

4. Youtube - according to my official Youtube analytics, I have just over 10k views left before I hit the illustrious 1 million views mark. If you could please help me out, and go check out some of my videos. Maybe you have a favorite that you want to watch again, or maybe there is a video on my channel that you have not seen before. Either way, any help is greatly appreciated! (sharing with your friends is also appreciated!)

5. Facebook Contest - Just over a week left of my Facebook contest. I am posting a photo every day, that if you "share", you have a chance at winning a 2-week supply of Shakeology for FREE! Easy to enter, easy to win. Check it out here.

6. Shakeology Price Increase - Also, just over a week left to take advantage of the current Shakeology price. The price is going up April 1st, so if you wish to "lock-in" at the current price for life, you must get signed up prior to then on a "Home Direct" plan. For those of you who are already on Shakeology Home Direct (or more than 1 order of it), signing up as a Beachbody Coach is still the most cost-effective way of being on Shakeology Home Direct. Sure, you have a nominal monthly Coach fee, but the 25% off all purchases still makes this the cheapest route to take. If you are at all interested in either signing up for Shakeology or becoming a Coach for cheaper Shakeology, e-mail me back for more information.

7. March Promotions - Lastly, there is of course, also a little over a week left to take advantage of the March promotions being held at Beachbody right now. There are some great savings to be had. If you are interested in Shakeology and/or Coaching, a Challenge Pack has the greatest savings to get you started the right way. Also, if you wish to purchase a Challenge Pack, let me know, and I can show you how to sign up to have the Coach Fee waived ($40 value).

Day 327 - Weekly Newsletter

Hey Everybody!

This week, I would like to announce my March Facebook Contest. If you haven't already "Liked" my Facebook page, I would do so now. Facebook is, without a doubt, the first tool I turn to in order to share valuable news and information to those around me and on my team. All you have to do for the contest, is "Like" my page, and "share" the daily photos that I post with your friends and family, and every time you do, your name will be entered for a chance to win a FREE 2-week supply of Shakeology! There will be one photo posted every day, so that means that you have the opportunity to enter the contest 17 times between now and the end of the month. The more times you enter, the better your odds of winning are!

A couple other things to note:

1. I have finished Body Beast. If you haven't already seen it, here is my final transformation video.

2. I am heading to the LIVE Shaun T event this Saturday in Toronto. I am really looking forward to meeting a couple members of my team there. This is the re-scheduled event from a few weeks ago when the original got snowed out.

3. Just a few weeks until the price of Shakeology goes up. That means you have just a few weeks left to "lock-in" at the current price. If you are interested, e-mail me for more pricing options available.

4. Also, just a few weeks left to take advantage of the amazing March promotions going on with Beachbody. We are less than 90 days until the official start of summer, what are you waiting for? Remember that a summer body is built in the winter and spring.

5. I am officially kicking off my next training block starting this Sunday March 17th. Check out the blog "Tough Mudder Training 2013" below for my schedule.

Here are my blogs from this past week:

As usual, if any of you have any questions/comments/concerns, do not hesitate to e-mail me. Everyone have a great week, talk to you soon!

Day 320 - Weekly Newsletter

Good Morning Everybody!

I don't know about you, but I am starting to get that feeling that Spring is right around the corner! We are getting more sunshine and less clouds lately. The temperatures are slowly starting to creep up. The clocks go ahead an hour this weekend. Which means nicer weather, more sunshine, and more opportunity to get outside! I guess if you live in a warm, southern climate, you are probably already experiencing some really nice weather, but up here in Southern Ontario, there is still lots of snow!

With nicer weather, comes the urge to get outside and get active. This is the time of year (next to New Year's Resolutions) that people begin to start thinking about getting active. Don't wait until Spring is already here to get started, get a jump-start on your progress now, especially with some of the great deals Beachbody is holding in the month of March.

In case you didn't know, both the P90X and P90X2 Challenge Packs are on sale for $180!

Both of these programs retail for $120 on their own, but they also come with your first bag of Shakeology, which also retails for $120 (price goes up April 1st).

On top of the money you are saving over purchasing these programs individually, Beachbody has also thrown in some bonuses:

P90X comes with:
1 bag of Shakeology ($120 retail)
The entire P90X+ series ($60 retail) (this series is great IMO!)
2 workouts from Tony Horton's One on One series ($40 retail)
=savings of over $160!

Check out the P90X Challenge Pack here

P90X2 is, without a doubt, the most scientifically-advanced home workout system. I believe in this program so much, that I used it to help me qualify AND compete in last year's World's Toughest Mudder competition.

Along with P90X2, you also get:
1 bag of Shakeology ($120 retail)
2 workouts from Tony Horton's One on One series ($40 retail)

If you have conquered P90X and are looking to take your overall fitness and athleticism to the next step, P90X2 is the way to go!

Check out the P90X2 Challenge Pack here

On top of all of those savings, you are also given the option to upgrade and become a Beachbody Coach absolutely free ($40 value).

I will say that each Challenge Pack automatically signs you up for Shakeology "Home Direct", where Beachbody bills and ships you a new bag every month, but you can literally cancel this at ANY time. You could receive your package in the mail and cancel that very same day! I highly recommend giving Shakeology a try for at least 30 days, I did, and have not stopped since!

Day 313 - Weekly Newsletter

Hey Everyone

Last few days of February, March begins on Friday, which means Spring is right around the corner! I know this is a tough time of year to get moving, but you have to continually remind yourself that just as going to work/school, brushing your teeth, sleeping, eating, etc. are all part of your daily routine, so too should exercise and healthy eating!

The big news of the week this week has been the announcement from Beachbody regarding the increase in price of Shakeology. Here is the official message from Beachbody:

When we launched the Healthiest Meal of the Day four years ago, we priced it just right—so it was a good value your customers. The $119.95 price tag was based on extensive analysis of market conditions sourcing and logistics forecasts, and a whole bunch of other variables our accountants like to talk about.
And for all these years, we never budged. Not when the costs of gas and shipping skyrocketed. Not when the costs of whey and other key ingredients kept creeping upward. Definitely not when outside analysts and others told us we were crazy. Maybe we are, but we did everything we could to keep prices the same and continue to provide FREE shipping on your Home Direct (HD) orders.
Unfortunately, this is one battle we can't fight forever. We were forced to make a tough decision: Lose the FREE shipping guarantee and potentially move to cheaper ingredients OR raise the price of Chocolate (regular) and Greenberry by a mere $10/month (33 cents/day)? Considering we'll never sacrifice the integrity of our ingredients, the choice was clear.

Effective April 1, 2013, the new price of Chocolate (regular) and Greenberry Shakeology will be $129.95

Lock in the Original Price on HD by April 1st
Here's the good news: You and your customers can easily lock in the original price ($119.95) for life! Simply get on Chocolate, Greenberry, or Chocolate/Greenberry alternating HD before April 1st, and as long as you never cancel your HD subscription, you'll maintain the original price.
Challenge Pack prices will NOT be affected by the increase.
Home Direct is Where It's At
If you're on Home Direct, you'll also continue to get FREE shipping—every month (which means if you're locked in to the original price, you'll save $10 and get FREE shipping every month. That's a $22 savings per month!). However, there will be a slight shipping & handling increase on non-HD orders.
Effective March 4, 2013, our shipping & handling rate will increase from 8.25% to 9.25%—which means the minimum will increase from $5.95 to $6.95. Again, this pertains to non-HD orders ONLY!

So what this means for all of you: If you have been thinking about purchasing Shakeology or becoming a Coach to purchase Shakeology, NOW is the time to do it! Why continue to wait any longer and put off what is such a smart decision to make. Shakeology has been the cornerstone of my diet for these past few months and I LOVE it! I know it seems pricey, but as you now know, it is certainly not going to get any cheaper!

If you would like a sample, I can mail you a Chocolate Shakeology sample FREE OF CHARGE, just e-mail me back with your full name and mailing address and I will send it out to you.

Day 306 - Weekly Newsletter

Hey Everybody!

I hope everyone is making progress towards their health and fitness goals.

This time of year is tough. So many of the "New Year's Resolutioners" have already fallen off the wagon, yet the "Summer Bodies" fanatics have yet to jump on. Keep in mind that exercise and healthy living is a lifelong journey, not just something you pick up and drop off to try and look good for others who really don't care. How many of YOU are staying active during these lazy months?

Personally, I have just finished up with the "Bulk Phase" of Body Beast. I am now about to start the "Beast Phase". During this phase, I am going to be consuming less calories, as well as focusing in on very specific macronutrient ratios. The goal for these final 3 weeks is to "cut" away the fat. I have gained around 14lbs since starting Body Beast, it is now time to try and make my muscle gains more defined.

There is something I wish to share with all of you. I believe this to be one of the most powerful commercials I have seen on television in quite some time. Just recently, the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation released a video bringing to light a very real topic we all will have to face one day - how will you live your last 10 years? Keep in mind that a healthy lifestyle, full of a (mostly) healthy diet and exercise has such a profound way we age. It goes well beyond looking good in a bathing suit. It has to do with the quality of life we will experience. Watch the video here (Youtube).

Remember;

1. If you wish to try a sample of Shakeology, e-mail me your address so that I can send one out to you FREE of charge!

Day 299 - Weekly Newsletter

Good Morning Everybody!

2013 is trekking right along, we are already half-way through February! Remember this one simple fact, time does not wait for you. If you do not make a choice NOW to get fit and healthy, your opportunities will pass you by...

How is everyone making out with your health/fitness goals? Personally, I just finished up my 6th round of the Body Beast's Bulk Phase, which means I have 1 more round of each workout before I head into the Beast Phase. The Beast Phase is about calorie reduction and body fat cutting. I have been very happy with the program so far, with a good amount of weight gain (just under 14 pounds total since I started).

If you haven't been following along already, I have been re-posting my "Resistance Training 7 Step Approach" series on my blog. As of this morning, we are on step 4.

I have been getting some great feedback from many of you, so keep up your stories of inspiration and motivation. A lot of people don't realize this, but I am tremendously motivated by so many of you. The fact that we are all in this together, pushing forward, is incredibly motivating!

I have some great blogs coming up in the near future. Friday is my 300th straight blog, so stay tuned for that one! After that, I will be posting my weight progression from each of the Bulk workouts in Body Beast. I will also have a few blogs detailing my diet and what supplements I am taking throughout Body Beast. On top of all of that, I will of course be completing my Resistance Training 7 Step Approach series.

For those interested, don't forget that you can Request a FREE Shakeology Sample from me. Please remember that I take the time and money out of my own pocket to send these samples out ($5-7/sample based on where you live) so I am more than happy to send you one, but please only ask if you are serious about changing your health with Shakeology.

Speaking of that, there are still a number of you who have not reported back to me letting me know that either: a) you have received your sample, or b) you have received your sample, but haven't tried it yet. Please keep me updated so that if for some reason you haven't received your sample, I can send you another one (if interested).

Other than that, I hope everyone has a great week, I will leave you with my blogs from the past week:

Day 292 - Weekly Newsletter

Hey Everybody!

I trust you are all staying active and leading healthy lifestyles. If so, congrats on making it through the first month of the year. If not, what are you waiting for? Spring is RIGHT around the corner. NOW is the time to get active if you haven't already!

A couple things to touch on this week:

1. I am heading to the LIVE Shaun T event in Toronto this Saturday with a few team members. It is a sold out event, so it sounds like it will be a pretty awesome experience. I have been hard at work with Body Beast, so my muscles are pretty pumped, although I am not sure how well I will fare doing a Shaun T type workout as I haven't done any of his workouts in months...

I will hopefully get a chance to take some photos and hopefully shoot a bit of video of the event, so keep an eye out on my Facebook page/Youtube Channel.

2. The Shakeology samples that I am sending out are a HUGE hit. Many of you have already requested a sample. Some have already reached their destination, some are still on their way. All I ask is that if you requested a sample, please let me know when it arrives. Also, once you give it a try, let me know what you think.

If you haven't already requested a sample but would like one, you can either e-mail me back with your full address, or head on over to my website, I have set up a request page on my website where you can fill out a form with your name and address.

3. I am just over the half-way point of Body Beast now. I am up about 13 pounds since I started the program. I am quite pleased with the results so far! My strength and muscle size has really improved in my opinion. I have just 2 'rounds' left in the "Bulk Phase" before I dial back my calories and try to 'cut' away the fat the best I can. I am currently on track to finish Body Beast on March 13th. I will be sharing all of my results with you then.

I will then be plunging head-first into a P90X2/Insanity: The Asylum hybrid to get me prepped and ready for my next Tough Mudder on May 11th.

Day 285 - Weekly Newsletter

Hey Everyone!

How is everyone doing with their health and fitness goals? If you are looking for a spark or something to get you engaged and moving again, let me know! Remember that health and fitness is a life-long journey. This is not something you do for 90 days and then go back to your old ways. Living a healthy life requires time, commitment, and dedication! If you have fallen off the horse, fine. Dust yourself off, get focused, get some motivation, and get back on!

For those of you who have been sticking with it, good for you, you are having an influence and impact on the ones around you more than you know!

A couple things this week.

1. I have had some great interest already for the Shakeology samples. I have sent a bunch out already to many of you reading this e-mail. Please, if you are receiving a sample from me, let me know when you get it so that I know you have received it alright. Then, give it a shot and let me know how you like it. If you haven't requested a sample yet, and would like one, e-mail me so that I can send one to you!

2. I don't know if you folks read the Beachbody newsletter or not, but Steve Edwards (Beachbody's fitness adviser) is a regular contributor, and almost always has something worthwhile to read. This week's edition is no different. Have a read below:

5 Reasons You Could Be Gaining Weight

By Steve Edwards Nothing taps your panic button quite like gaining weight, especially when you're on a weight loss program. Unfortunately, it's an inevitable fact of life. Luckily, you've got me here to tell you that, as long as you're following a solid program, results will come. It's a physiological certainty (unless you have an underlying issue, like hypothyroidism).
I realize this might take further convincing, considering our instant-gratification society. But this ain't my first weight loss rodeo. I've seen almost every scenario you can dream up, most of which were solved by patience. That said, there are some strategies you can use to ensure you're getting the most out of both your diet and exercise program. Let's tackle five of the most common weight loss conundrums.
Woman on Scale

  1. I'm following the program perfectly. Why isn't it working?! Cortisol is a word you should become familiar with, as it's a key factor here. You've probably heard that it makes you fat, but you have no idea why "they" say that. What is cortisol? It's actually a performance-enhancing stress hormone that serves an important function in survival situations. Unfortunately, when we force too much daily stress on our bodies, we shift into a state of chronic cortisol release. This can cause us to store excess fat as a survival instinct. While it sounds pretty dire, it's generally only a serious problem in those with poor lifestyle habits.

The beginning of a diet and/or exercise program, however, is a survival situation. In a very simplistic sense, your body releases cortisol, which, in turn, causes excess water retention to help you rebuild broken down muscle tissue. While this is cortisol functioning properly, it does lead to a period of water weight gain as you adjust to a new program. It's nothing to worry about. By following a solid plan, your body will adapt by repairing this muscle tissue. This results in an increase in your metabolism and leads to weight loss if that's your goal.

The trick is that there is no hard line on how long this adaptation takes. It's based on your individual parameters. Just rest easy in the fact that it will happen, unless you force it not to, leading us to . . .
  2. Woman with Small PortionI'm barely eating. Severe undereating causes cortisol release, as it's the definition of a bodily emergency. Beachbody® offers many kick-start (or express) eating plans where you undereat for a few days, but you're always encouraged to get back to a solid maintenance calorie level quickly. A short period of strategic undereating with proper hydration will help your body dispense of unneeded food (most of us chronically overeat) and regulate bodily functions. Go too long, however, and chronic cortisol release is the result.

This is a tough situation because our natural reaction to weight gain is to eat less. When you're exercising, it's important to keep your eye on workout performance, as opposed to how much weight you're losing. You should be eating enough so that your daily workouts improve over time. As long as that's happening, your body is adapting, your metabolism is increasing, and you will lose weight provided you also don't overeat.
  3. I've been doing hard workouts for weeks. On the performance theme, you need to continually improve, which is why workouts get harder as you move through any of Beachbody's programs. It's also why we add resistance (via added weight or gravity, as is the case with jumping) to workouts. If you're doing the same workouts at the same intensity constantly, you are not forcing adaptations that lead to changes in your metabolism. This is called a plateau.

A plateau, technically, isn't gaining weight—it's remaining the same—but a proper diet and exercise program should continually force improvements (in the form of adaptations). Otherwise, your metabolism won't continue to increase, which is the goal of most weight loss programs.
  4. My friend and I are doing the exact same thing and she's losing. Back to adaptation. We all react differently. The only absolute is that our bodies will change over time with a healthy program. A fitness rule called the Specificity of Adaptation states that it takes the body between 3 and 12 weeks to adapt to new stimuli, which is a very broad range. This is why it's vital that you stick to your program and not change it repeatedly based on your daily results!

In our test groups, two-week results have almost no bearing on who does best in the end. In fact, many people that undereat early and get off to a fast start will stagnate, while those who stick to the plan and eat as advised will start slower but train harder over time, leading to rapid weight loss as the program wears on.
  5. Woman with Small PortionI lost weight for a while but now it's stopped. For ages on the Team Beachbody® Message Boards, this was our most frequently asked question. You eat less to lose weight. Things are going great, but suddenly you plateau—or start gaining. Odds are, your metabolism has slowed down in order to deal with the decreased calories. You're starving your now fit body, so it's doing what it needs to do to survive. The answer to this problem is pretty simple: eat more.

Again, this is a tough sell, so here's an example. One of our early Success Stories lost 40 pounds during a round of Power 90®, eating only 1,200 calories a day. He then stagnated for a long time and was very resistant to eating more, fearing it would kick-start a regression. We talked him into adding calories until, finally at around 2,000 calories, weight loss resumed. It then became so rapid he dropped through his goal, and about 20 pounds below, until finally, at around 3,000 calories, he leveled out. Then a daily diet of around 3,500 calories a day got him to a ripped 175.
So the moral of today's lesson is to trust your exercise program—at least if it's a Beachbody program. We've been doing this a long time and we know what works. There are no magic bullets. Body transformation is based on making consistent, healthy lifestyle changes. Do that and you'll never need to ask yourself why you're gaining weight again.

Day 278 - Weekly Newsletter

Hey Everybody!

I hope you are all continuing to press play and stay active and eating healthy! If it is as cold outside where you are as it is where I am, hopefully you are staying warm as well. Nothing keeps your body warm like a good workout ;-)

A couple things I want to touch on this week.

1. I have ordered a box of sample packets for the new and improved Chocolate Shakeology flavor from Beachbody. I have advertised on Facebook, but figured I would throw out the invitation in my mass e-mail as well, as not everyone is on Facebook. For those of you who don't know, Beachbody had changed the chocolate formula a little while back to try and improve the overall nutritional value of it. Well, unfortunately many folks disliked the taste, so Beachbody listened to its customers and have now come back with an even newer formula (now 3rd generation I guess you could say) that is getting some pretty remarkable reviews!

I have been using the chocolate Shakeology for a few months now and am one of the few who actually enjoys the taste, so I am excited to give the new flavor a try.

If you would like to sample the new chocolate Shakeology, please send me an e-mail with the name and address you would like me to ship the sample to, and I will get one out to you as soon as I can. All I ask is that only serious inquiries ask for a sample. If you are serious about wanting to try Shakeology because you may want to order some in the future, then I am more than happy to send you one. I am sending this samples out free of charge to you, paying out of my own pocket.

2. Beachbody's Top Coach of the year for both 2011 and 2012 has released his 6-steps to a successful Beachbody Coaching business. For those of you who don't know Coach Wayne over at TeamRipped.com, you should go check out his story, pretty remarkable stuff! Tyler Robbins Fitness is directly affiliated with Coach Wayne and his team, so I, along with all of my Coaches have direct access to this training. If you have thought about becoming a Coach in the past, this is the time to do it! I have the training tools available to me and will send them to you if you sign up as a Coach under me or any one of my personally sponsored Coaches.

Day 271 - Weekly Newsletter

Hello Everybody!

Wow, January is already half over! I hope you are all either staying active and leading healthy lifestyles, or at least planning to get started real soon. Remember that your body is the only one you have, so eating healthy and exercising should be just as much of a full-time job as, well, going to your full-time job!

I want to talk to you all quick about goals. Most importantly, setting them. If you haven't already, start setting your sights on a goal(s) you wish to accomplish in 2013. Ideally, goals should not just come at the start of a new year, but realistically, most people find that the start of a new calendar year is a great time for a fresh start.

The problem with the goals of most individuals is that they lack any real meaning or purpose. The more specific you are, especially with time frame, the more likely you are to take the necessary steps to put accomplish said goals.

For example, one of the most common 'goals' people have at the start of the year is, "I want to lose weight." Great. Fine. But when you think about that, what does it really mean? Do you want to lose 1 pound? 2 pounds? 100 pounds? When do you wish to accomplish this by, tomorrow morning? Next year?

Pick something in your life right now that you either wish to accomplish, or remove from your life and act on it now!

A better goal would be, "I want to lose 20 pounds before June!" Awesome! At least this gives you a focus and a better idea of how to structure your plan of attack. Ok, so you have 21 weeks until June. That is a 1 pound per week. Now you can focus on how much exercise and how many calories it takes to cut from your diet in order to reach that goal.

For myself, I have a few goals already penciled in for this year. First, my wife and I are competing in Tough Mudder in May again. Once I finish up with Body Beast, I will get back to functional training and getting ready for the event. After that, I wish to compete in the World's Toughest Mudder again in November, so, my training schedule will start to take shape once May is over.

If you are looking for inspiration, think of an event that you wish to complete your goal by. What's nice about events, such as Tough Mudder, is that I have paid my admission already. The date and time of the event is set. Now, I have to train for it, or else I have just pissed my money away. Find something that interests you and go and do it.

Enough rambling, here are my blogs and videos from the past week. Everyone have a great week. Please remember that my job (and goal) is to help all of you, but I can only show you the door, you must walk through it. Talk to you all soon,

I just finished up with Day 21 of Body Beast this morning and am already seeing some pretty remarkable results. I am up about 7lbs and am already noticing some pretty significant size increases, especially in my chest and arms. Tomorrow I start the Bulk Phase of the routine.

Day 257 - Weekly Newsletter

Good Morning Everybody, and Happy New Year!

Well, here we are, the start of a brand new year. This is the time of year when so many people decide to start over. This is the time of year when so many want to overhaul their lifestyle and get back to (or start) healthy living.

I think my quote of the day today is so fitting for this time of year:

"The critical ingredient is getting off your butt and doing something. It’s as simple as that. A lot of people have ideas, but there are few who decide to do something about them now. Not tomorrow. Not next week. But today. The true entrepreneur is a doer, not a dreamer."
~ Nolan Bushnell

I am here to help you create and achieve your goals. I was sick and tired of the direction my life was heading just a few years ago, so I decided to make a change for the better and haven't looked back since! Now I want to relay that motivation and inspiration to the rest of you!

On a personal note, I have been plugging away at Body Beast. I just finished up day 14 this morning and am already noticing some pretty impressive size and strength gains. I think you are all going to be pretty amazed at my transformation by the end of this program.

Here is my day 7-10 progress video.

Also, in case any of you missed it, I am looking for dedicated, motivated, (insane) individuals who may wish to join me at this year's World's Toughest Mudder...

Finally, if any of you have been on the fence about becoming a Beachbody Coach, this is a tremendous time of year to finally sign up. So many folks around you, friends, family, etc. are looking for motivation and inspiration to get them active and leading a healthier lifestyle. If you are interested in sharing your experiences with them, e-mail me back for further details.

Everyone have an awesome day, talk to you soon!

Day 250 - Weekly Newsletter

Hey Everyone!

For those who celebrated, I trust you had a very Merry Christmas yesterday! Hopefully you are either pressing play today, or at least starting to think about that New Years' Resolution that will get you moving again.

There are just a few days left in 2012. I honestly cannot believe how fast this year has gone by. If you have been staying active over the holidays, then good for you! It is a great way to stay mentally focused while so many others are doing a bit too much indulging. If you haven't been staying active over the holidays, fine, but get your mind right, and focus on a goal you wish to achieve. NOW is the time to put the gears in motion.

I just wanted to remind you all really quick that since there are just a few days left in 2012, that means that there are just a few days left of Beachbody's promotion to have your Coach fees waived. If you purchase a Beachbody Challenge pack between now and the end of 2012, you have the option to be upgraded to Coach status for free! If this sounds like something that interests you, then message me for more details.

My first Challenge Group is up and running, and we have already had some great interest from some people looking to stay accountable over the holidays. If you are looking to get started, then come on over and stay motivated and accountable with us on the message boards. It is a great way to stay motivated!

Finally, I am a week into Body Beast now and am loving it! I have been doing a lot of cardio training in 2012 as part of my Tough Mudder and World's Toughest Mudder training, so I have really been enjoying slugging some weights around. You can check out my progress in my Youtube videos:

Day 1 - Build Chest/Tris
Day 2 - Build Legs
Day 3 - Build Back/Bis
Day 4 - Build Shoulders
Day 5 - Beast Cardio and Beast Abs

My next weekly newsletter will be this time next week, which will be in 2013, so I want to take this time to wish everyone a very happy, healthy, and safe New Year. Let's all make 2013 our best year yet, I am here to help each and every one of you! BRING IT!

Day 243 - Weekly Newsletter

Good Morning!

For those of you who were starting to follow my journey through Body Beast, I apologize, I had to take an unscheduled few days off after catching a NASTY stomach bug Saturday night. That sucker completely wiped me out. So, I will be restarting Body Beast all over again on Day 1 - Build Chest/Tris tomorrow (Thursday December 20th).

For those interested, make sure to check out the links in e-mail signature below to either follow along in my Challenge Group, or even join in with the rest of us. NOW is the time to strike while the iron is hot. The start of the year is such a popular time for so many of us to make changes to our lifestyles, don't be left behind!

Also, for those of you who have been asking, I will be documenting my full progress through Body Beast with impressions of the program as I go, but will ALSO be doing my standard, full, in-depth video reviews of all of the workouts once I have completed each workout a number of times. So, you should expect to start seeing the reviews some time in the New Year.

There is just over a week left in 2012! Can you believe how fast this year has gone? Do you want to know what's scary? Time keeps on passing you by, whether you are deciding to make a change or not. If you don't make a decision to change your lifestyle and make a change RIGHT NOW, the next thing you know, 2013 will be wrapping up and you will still be wishing you had made the commitment! Beachbody has ALL of the tools you need to be successful, and any further information you seek can be found through me. As your Coach, I am here to help all of you reach your goals.

With just a little over a week left in the year, remember that until the end of 2012, Beachbody is waiving all sign-up costs ($40 value) on becoming a Coach if you purchase a Challenge Pack. Challenge Packs are a great way to start the New Year off right because they combine BOTH diet and exercise (program and supplement) into one package to get you moving in the right direction. Ask me for more details.

Other than that, and as usual, please let me know if there is anything I can do to help you start the year off right. Also, I want to hear from all of you regarding where you currently stand in your health and fitness goals/aspirations. Oh, and for those who celebrate out there, have a very Merry Christmas, as my next Weekly Newsletter won't be hitting your inbox now until the 26th.

Talk to you all soon,

Day 236 - Weekly Newsletter

Good Morning Everyone

Happy 12-12-12…

A very quick e-mail this week, I am moving tomorrow (13th) so I have lots of last-minute stuff to do to be organized and ready to go.

My first-ever official Challenge Group starts this Saturday (at least for me). I will be starting Body Beast. I know of at least one other guy starting Body Beast with me on the same day, but you do not have to do Body Beast, or even start on the same day as me for that matter. All that matters is that you tag along, pick a workout program, choose your goals, post some accountability and get FIT with the rest of us in the group!

Since I am moving tomorrow, I will not have any internet connection for the day. If you need anything, I should be back on sometime during the day Friday once I get the phone/cable/internet all hooked up. The technician is supposed to be there first thing Friday morning so hopefully I am back up and running soon. But hey, I am sure I can go ONE day without internet…right?

I will be vlogging and blogging all of my progress with Body Beast, not to mention more video reviews in the New Year so stay tuned for all of that.

I also have one other important piece of "news" I guess you could call it, coming up on January 1st. I will be announcing it on my blog as well as on the "news" section of my website. Sorry to just tease you about it, but I want to get a few more details in line with it, as well as fully plan it out, and lately with the move, the holidays, and a number of other things on the go, I don't really have the time at this moment in time, but soon!

As per usual, I want to hear from all of you! E-mail me back and let me know how your health and fitness goals are progressing.

Everyone have a great week, talk to you all soon,

Day 229 - Weekly Newsletter

Hey Everybody

It is amazing what you can accomplish when you are up at 4:30 in the morning! So many new things coming up for me, so my mind was racing once I woke up, so there was no way I was heading back to sleep. It has been a productive morning, as I have been trying to get ahead on my blogs and other computer work associated with being YOUR Beachbody Coach.

First, a quick update on me. My knee has been feeling a lot better lately *knock on wood*. I have been doing whatever I can to make sure I don't aggravate the injury any further. It is my understanding that if I just give it some time to rest, then it should pretty much get better on its own.

I am still taking some more recovery time, allowing all of my little aches, pains, bumps, and bruises to heal up before I jump into Body Beast on the 15th. I am still staying connected with many of you through Facebook/Twitter/Youtube, which is of GREAT motivation to me. I enjoy seeing the dedication a lot of you are showing in staying active. It really is getting me extremely PUMPED to get back to the grind….in time, however.

In the meantime, my wife and I are very busy trying to tie up all of our remaining loose ends before our move on the 13th. If any of you have moved from one house to another in the past, you know how hectic things can get…throw Christmas preparations in there and you make for a very busy time of year for us right now! Good news is that we had our final walkthrough of the house last night. It looks amazing! A few little fixes here and there and it should be good to go for us on the 13th.

A couple things I want to run by you this week:

1. LES MILLS COMBAT is now available in a Challenge Pack for just $160. This is a pretty incredible deal considering you get the program, plus your first month of Shakeology, all for that one price. Shakeology retails for $120 on its own! More details here.

2. December is the last month to take advantage of the Challenge Pack promotion being offered at Beachbody. Purchase ANY Challenge Pack, and you are given the option to upgrade to Coach Status for free! Take advantage of this offer now, e-mail me for details.

3. Make sure to stop by and check out the Team Fitness for Life Workout Group. There is a group of us all ready to stay accountable with each other. Some of us are starting various programs on December 15th, but that is the beauty of this Challenge Group. You can choose WHATEVER program you like, and start on WHATEVER date works for you. It would be best to start around the same time as the rest of us so you can stay motivated and accountable, but you do not have to be glued to the 15th. If you want to wait until the start of the New Year, start then! You can read all about all of our trials and tribulations on our message board thread.

4. Not everyone on my mailing list has connected with me in as many ways as they could, so make sure you check out my links below. Facebook is generally my most widely-used networking tool to get news about blogs/vlogs/promotions/etc out to all of you.

Stay tuned, as I am going to have many more blogs/vlogs/reviews/etc. coming up in the very near future. Once I am a few weeks into Body Beast I will then start reviewing the workouts just as I have done in the past. I will also be documenting ALL of my progress along the way. Lots of exciting things coming in 2013 as well!

E-mail me back and let me know how you are doing personally, whether you are reaching towards your goals or struggling to get motivated, either way, I am here to help! Talk to you all soon,

Day 222 - Weekly Newsletter

Hey Everybody

I trust things are well with everyone. I am hoping all of my American friends had a great Thanksgiving break. We are now heading straight towards Christmas and the holiday season wrapping up the end of the year.

This is a notoriously bad time of year for folks to just 'write off', then start fresh at the beginning of the year. I like to think of myself as a realist, so I understand that this is a tough time of year to get active. That is fine. Do what works for you. I am not going to try and preach to you that you should get active now, with just a month left of the year, and with all of the holiday festivities going on, it can be extremely tough to get on a workout schedule. But, at least do this for me:

1. Limit yourself with your holiday 'junk' eating. There is PLENTY of opportunity to indulge a little without totally ruining your waistline. Limit the damages this time of year usually does to most people.

2. Start making plans to get started training NOW. Don't wait until January to sort of starting to think about what you wish to do to get in shape. Start getting motivated and prepared now, so that when January 1st rolls around, you are ready to hit the ground running!

On a personal note, and with a bit of research, I seem to have picked up a case of chondromalacia, or "runner's knee" from World's Toughest Mudder. Majority of the time my right knee feels just fine, and in fact there were absolutely no problems the other day when I played hockey. Having said that, a lot of walking or going down stairs causes a bit of a 'flare up' where I get some pain. So, I am definitely taking some recovery time, trying to limit the stress on the knee, avoiding stairs with my right leg, etc.

I am hoping to still start Body Beast December 15th, but that will be entirely dependent on the right knee. I will keep everyone updated.

Speaking of Body Beast, since I am planning on starting December 15th, I will be jumping head-first into our Challenge Group at that time. (Link in e-mail signature below). We already have a good group of us aiming to get started at or around the end of this year, so feel free to jump in with us. Challenge Groups are a fantastic way to get and stay motivated/accountable.

That is all for this week, I hope to hear from all of you with any problems/concerns/questions you may have. Talk to you all soon!

Day 215 - Weekly Newsletter

Hey Everybody!

I am back from the World's Toughest Mudder. I had a blast, I worked hard, and learned a lot. Considering it was my first time through the event, I feel like I learned a lot on how to prepare. Keep an eye on my blog over the next week or so, as I will be detailing my experiences at the event, as well as what I felt worked/didn't work in my own gear and preparations. My wife thinks I'm already crazy for thinking about doing it again next year…

Also, if you haven't seen my video for the event, you can do so here.

Just a couple reminders this week:

1. Starting today, we should be getting details about Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales coming from Beachbody. This will be a great opportunity for any of you who are looking to score some deals for holiday shopping. I will do my best to keep everyone updated through all my social media outlets. If you haven't already connected with me through Facebook or Twitter, I suggest you do so as those are usually the first places I turn to to get information out to everyone.

2. There just over a week left in my November Contest. If you missed you chance to win the copy of Asylum 2 in October, now is your chance to win, as I will be giving away another copy at the end of this month. The potential to save here is pretty remarkable, considering the amount of money you can save on products (ordering a Challenge Pack) and having your Coach fees waived, not to mention the chance to win the FREE copy of Asylum Volume 2!

3. Now that World's Toughest Mudder is over, I have my sights locked on our Challenge Group starting in just a few weeks. I will be starting Body Beast on Saturday December 15th, just 2 days after moving into my new house. I have a good group of others who are jumping in to stay accountable and motivated as well! I hope to see you come on out. Choose a program, choose a start date, and get to it, stop waiting for opportunity to knock, NOW is the time to make the change!

That is all for now. Things are crazy around here at the Robbins' household. This is such a busy time of year with my birthday being this Sunday, my son's first birthday in a week, my wife's birthday a week after that. Then throw in Christmas shopping, and, oh yeah, us moving, and you have a recipe for craziness!

E-mail me back and let me know how you are doing with your current health and fitness journey. Also let me know what your future goals are. I look forward to hearing from all of you soon!
