Welcome to 2014! Happy New Year to all of you. I hope you all behaved yourselves last night.

With a New Year, comes yet another chance to reflect on where you currently stand, and where you are headed. This is true, not only for our careers and our education, but our health and lifestyles as well.

It is no secret that this is a popular time of year for people to make resolutions to improve their overall health. Luckily for all of you, being a part of this team, and this company (Beachbody), we have a lot of resources at your disposal to not only set goals for yourself, but to get the motivation and support to get there.

Beyond being a Beachbody Coach, I want to remind all of you that I am also a personal trainer, who has helped men and women of all ages reach their goals time and time again. Welcome to October! A new month always brings exciting new opportunities, and with just a few months left in the year, it is also time to start planning ahead to the New Year. Lots of new, exciting, but also some disappointing news from me today.

First off, let me get the disappointing news out of the way first. I am withdrawing from the World's Toughest Mudder. For those of you who have been following me will know, I have a heart condition known as "Atrial Flutter." To make a long story short, I have been cleared for exercise, but certain types of training seem to be causing my symptoms to flare up, and I really don't think I am physically able, nor is it safe, to continue on with my training and competing at such a rigorous event. This is disappointing for me, but at the same time, health always comes first, and I am focusing on getting the required treatment so that I can make plans to compete again in the future.

For those interested, I am currently planning out my next training blocks. I plan on doing a Body Beast/One on One Hybrid that will focus on a bit of mass gaining, but also strength improvements. There will also be some performance goals there as well since I am now back playing hockey.

Now on to the exciting pieces of info from the past week:

1. Beachbody has announced their October promotions. During the month of October, you can get P90X or P90X2 Challenge Packs for just $180. That saves you over $90! Even if you already own X and/or X2, this is a great opportunity to save some money and pick up a copy of the program for a friend/family member, and you could keep the Shakeology for yourself.

2. Beachbody now offers 2 new purchasing options for Shakeology. Well, summer is over. Some of you have either returned to school, or have kids/relatives who have returned to school. Even if you haven't returned to school, your workplace probably has that 'different' feel to it as summer is over and productivity is no doubt picking up after the "dog days of summer"!

Many of you may have either taken the entire summer off from a regimented exercise program, or have drastically altered your schedule based on holidays or just plain old lack of interest.

With the start of September comes a few different things. First of all, routines are starting to take shape. Either you are falling back into a routine that you have followed previously, or you have taken up a new routine based on a new school year/job/etc.

Secondly, we are just a few months away from the holiday season, and therefore the final march to the end of the year. I know it is crazy to think, but in just under 4 months, we will be kissing 2013 goodbye forever!

Not to fret, however. You still have time to fulfill some of the promises you made to yourself for this year, or make some promises now and finish the year off with a bang. Many of the fitness programs that Beachbody sells are based on a 13-week schedule (or shorter) which means that you have time (if you act now) to get started on a program that will finish your year off strong. I, along with others in our Challenge Group have the tools and motivation to get you there.

I always say to all of my clients, "I can only show you the door, you have to walk through it!"

Welcome to the last week of August! I can't believe it has now been over a year since I ran my first Tough Mudder! Time sure does fly. I know I sound like a broken record, but time just keeps on ticking by, whether you decide to get active and eat healthy or not...

This week's topics of interest:

I have mentioned in the past, even though it may seem early, the holiday season is right around the corner, so this could be a great deal to pick some gifts up for family and/or friends!

2. I have actually received a lot of feedback after my "Why I Dislike the P90X "Certification"" blog last week. One of the main reasons, it appears, as to why people decide to take the P90X Certification is to help educate themselves on the program. If you are just a fitness aficionado, then it could help you understand the program better to maximize your results. Either way, I am starting P90X University. I was originally planning on starting Monday, but I have a wedding to attend on the 16th, so my schedule just lines up better if I start Sunday. Not only that, but this week off is going well. I can't believe how quickly July (and this year) are flying by! For those of you who don't know, I am still making my way through Focus T25 (and loving it!). I started the Beta Phase earlier this week. I plan on doing 4 weeks of the Beta phase before jumping into my World's Toughest Mudder training on Monday August 19th. I am still having some discomfort in my right elbow...

I am also taking some time to finish my basement. I am about 95% done the framing (hoping to be done by this weekend). The goal with my basement is to turn most of it into an awesome home gym! Keep an eye out for updates on my social media outlets over the next several weeks as that takes shape.

Here are the topics of discussion for this week:

I trust you are all doing well and progressing towards your health/fitness goals. A bit of a crappy week for me as I have been dealing with a few aches/pains that I am trying to get rid of before I dive head-first into my World's Toughest Mudder training. I am taking some time off from my strength training, but I am still pressing play with Focus T25. I really am enjoying the program, as it is keeping me sane, allowing me to workout, yet it is mostly lower-body focused (at least for now) so that I can allow my right elbow to heal.

Just a head's up for those of you interested, I am still mulling over what my plans are going to be, but I am quite certain that I am going to shorten the Alpha Phase by 1 week and jump into the Beta Phase starting Monday, so keep an eye out for my video blogs as I start the Beta Phase!

1. I have had some tremendous interest for my Shakeology 10-Packs. I just want to discuss the topic of Shakeology samples really quick because I have had a few questions from some of you.

Why do I offer free Shakeology samples?

Crazy right? I spend $6-7 per serving, straight out of my own pocket to send samples out to anyone interested. Why do I do this? Well, to be honest, I do so because I wish to share it with as many people as possible. I am more than willing to fork out the dough to help all of you discover this product. Having said that, I don't do this just so that you can "see what it tastes like"...

When I first signed up to be a Coach back on October 1st 2012, I didn't sign up for Shakeology right away. I was skeptical about the product because of how "sleazy" a lot of Beachbody Coaches can be - let's be honest here!

What finally sparked me to give it a try was because I had my World's Toughest Mudder coming up in November, so I figured it could help aid my recovery from training, as well as improve my energy levels (if was as good as advertised). Now that I have been taking it since the beginning of November, I refuse to give it up!

I truly, honestly believe in this product. So much so, that I now have my mom taking it, my sister taking it, and I am actively trying to get my brother and dad to take it too.

The tough part in all of this, is trying to get someone to appreciate how great of a product is with just one taste (some of you have had more than one sample mind you!).

What I ask out of many of you is this, if I have sent you a sample and you at least somewhat like the flavour (not even LOVE it), be honest with yourself and try a month's supply. Beachbody has a "bottom of the bag guarantee" so if you honestly don't feel any different by the end of the 30 days, you can get a full refund...even if the bag is empty (hence the name of the guarantee!). Beachbody is that confident in their product that they are willing to let you drink down the entire bag and STILL give you your money back if you desire...quite a statement in my opinion!

Buy a bag, take Shakeology every. single. day. for 30 straight days, replacing one meal or snack a day with it, exercise for at least 30 minutes every day for those 30 days, and honestly let me know how you feel after 30 days!

As for the flavour, I have a Coach on my team who admitted to me that he did not like the taste of Shakeology when he first started, but not he can't go without it. Just keep that in mind as well.

Welcome to July! Wow, the year is already half over, time is flying by. I know I sound like a broken record, but most people don't realize that time keeps on passing you by whether you choose to improve yourself or not! Don't have enough time to exercise? Well, Beachbody has you covered now...

This week's topics:

1. Wow, the buzz surrounding Focus T25 is just unbelievable! The interest shown by not only many on my team, but also customers and Coaches throughout Beachbody Nation is incredible! My wife and I have been working our way through the program as well, and now that I am a week and a half in, I can honestly say that I believe Beachbody has created such a perfectly versatile program here!

For those of you who are already fit from Insanity or Asylum, this can be used as a great "maintenance" routine. For those with other goals (including myself) it works well as an add-on. I have been doing more of a traditional strength program on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, with Focus T25 right alongside of it.

2. For those interested in Shakeology, I have a few vanilla samples left if you wish to try, I will send you a sample for free. I also have a delivery of chocolate samples showing up later this week. WOW, what a week! This time last week, I was getting ready to head to the airport to fly to Vegas for Coach Summit. 1. Focus T25 is here! I am currently making my way through the program (I just finished Day 3), and I have to admit that it has been exceeding my expectations so far! Think of this program as a condensed (but still intense) version of both Insanity and Asylum combined! Beachbody is offering free shipping until the end of July!

2. Vanilla Shakeology is here! So many people have been requesting this. To be honest, there are far more people excited about this than I thought there would be! The announcement at Coach Summit came with a tremendous applause. I have samples, so if you would like to try it out, let me know! If you order before July 7th, there is free shipping on it as well!

3. Focus T25 is also available in a Challenge Pack! Not only is it available in a Challenge Pack, but it is on sale from now, until the end of July for just $180! Hello Everyone

How is everyone doing with their health and fitness goals? Did you know that the first official day of summer is right around the corner? Think back to the number of times in previous years where you covered yourself up at the beach or the pool because you were self conscious about your body. How many more times are you going to do that before you finally make a change?

I am not one who thinks that people should diet/exercise for cosmetic reasons (alone), because striving for "perfection" is unattainable. However, I feel that by gaining confidence in yourself and enjoying the body that you are in does WONDERS for how you feel and carry yourself.

Anyways, on to this week's topics:

1. For those of you who are still not aware, I will be attending the World's Toughest Mudder again this year. Tough Mudder actually recently released an AWESOME promotional video for the event, that I feel really captures the spirit/feeling of the day. Anyways, last year, I had an amazing display of support from many of you who stepped forward and sponsored me for the event so that I could help recover some of the costs associated with competing in an event like this. Although I have some of the equipment needed for this event from last year, I still have some costs that I need to cover, so if any of you are gracious enough to sponsor me, any little bit counts, and I will be forever grateful!

2. There are just a few weeks left in the month to take advantage of the Les Mills Combat Challenge Pack promotion this month. The CP is priced at just $140, which is over $70 savings if you were to purchase the program/Shakeology separately. Not only that, but if you have been thinking about becoming a Coach, don't forget that anyone who purchases a Challenge Pack has the option to upgrade to "Coach" status for free ($40 value), pushing your savings to over $110!

3. Next Wednesday June 19th, I will be heading to Las Vegas for this year's Beachbody Coach Summit. Hey Everyone

I am back from vacation in Jamaica. I had a wonderful time with my wife and son. I took the entire week off from exercise, ate like I was on vacation, and loved every minute of it, especially considering that this will be my only week off until after World's Toughest Mudder in November!

I am back now, though, so it is time to get back to the grind, especially since I have received word from Beachbody that I will be interviewing for a Body Beast testimonial while I am at Summit in June (more details below).

1. As I stated above, the Thursday I am in Vegas (June 20th), I will be meeting with Beachbody staffers for a "Green Screen Interview" with photos following. This means that I have 2 weeks to shed some of this vacation weight and get as ripped as I possibly can. I had lots of cheat meals while on vacation, but I think that 2 weeks of straight dedication should be just fine in getting as ripped as I can.

Wow, we are at the end of May, when did that happen? Just a quick post today (and a day early) as I am heading to Jamaica in the morning for a week, and I have lots to do today. If you need me during the next week, e-mail me, as I will have SOME internet access, but don't count on me replying by a specific time.

1. My Focus T25 contest is now closed. At the time I am writing this newsletter, I have not yet selected a winner, but will be doing so very soon. Thanks to everyone who has entered, but unfortunately there can only be one winner. Keep an eye out on my Facebook page for the winner announcement.

2. As stated above, I am heading to Jamaica for 1 week (May 29-Aug 5). If you need to reach me during this time, e-mail me and I will do my best to get back to you as soon as I can.

Hey Everybody

I hope you are all continuing to stay active and eating a respectable diet. Is there a goal or specific date that you have in mind that you are reaching for? I know that specific events help me train and stay focused on my goals. Maybe consider signing up for a fitness-related event. It doesn't have to involve running either. Look around for local events in your area. When you put the money down to sign up for an event, it definitely helps keep you motivated and on track to stay fit and active.

This week's topics:

1. Which brings me to my first point of the week. I have officially signed up for the World's Toughest Mudder 2013! That's right, I will be returning to Raceway Park in New Jersey for the 24-hour endurance event on Saturday November 16th 2013. It is a long way away, but my planning and preparation are starting as I write this e-mail. I will be discussing my plans and preparations over the coming weeks and months so stay tuned!

2. Today kicks off my 30-day Shakeology Challenge. Although you will be joining us a bit later, if you are still interested, let me know and I will add you to the group. The group is aiming to look and feel our best by the first official day of summer!

3. In case you missed it last week, Beachbody is now offering the Body Beast Challenge pack with Shakeology instead of the Body Beast supplements. I know a lot of people have been asking about this one (myself included) as I personally feel like this is a better deal and more worthwhile to sign up for. I am a huge fan of the Body Beast program, so if you are interested, let me know or check out the details here.

4. For those of you who are pumped for Focus T25, here is a snippet I received from someone last week:

Hey Everybody!

Half-way through May. How is everyone's health/fitness goals coming? The official first day of summer is just over a month away, are you getting prepared to look/feel your best? I have never been one to promote a healthy lifestyle simply to look good, but so many people spend so much of their time uncomfortable in their own bodies, that it really does take away some of their enjoyment of the summer. What I'm saying is, you don't have to look like a supermodel, but you should certainly feel like one. When you feel better about yourself, your mood and how you perceive yourself goes through the roof!

Topics of interest this week:

1. Today is the last day to commit to my 30-day Shakeology Challenge. I would like all interested participants to place their order of Shakeology so that we can begin the Challenge no later than Wednesday May 22nd. That gives us a full 30 days of Shakeology goodness before the official first day of summer (Friday June 21st!)

How is everyone doing this week? Here in Southern Ontario, we have been having some AMAZING weather lately. Hopefully the weather still holds up this weekend as I am running my 3rd Tough Mudder event, this time with my wife. We run in the very first heat Saturday morning (8am), I am really looking forward to it.

There are lots of exciting things going on during the month of May, below is a list of things in case you missed anything.
